Curriculum Overview

With more and more schools adopting VEX Robotics as a platform to enrich and enhance science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses, there is a need for an integrated program which allows teachers to seamlessly add VEX into their classrooms. As such we have worked with various parties to create an array of VEX curriculum offerings, each tailored to the specific needs of teachers wishing incorporate VEX into their classes. Each offering was developed by forward thinking organizations who are experienced at creating tools to keep STEM education exciting and inspiring.

You have a choice when it comes to professionally developed classroom curriculum for use with the VEX Robotics Design System. There are three custom tailored VEX Robotics curriculum offerings each with unique goals and methods of implementation. Curriculum

It has been shown that robotics is a very powerful programmatic platform to attract and hold the attention of today’s multi-tasking, connected youths. Robotics competition has strong appeal to this intensely competitive generation and represents the perfect storm of applied physics, mathematics, computer programming, digital prototyping and design, integrated problem solving, teamwork, and thought leadership. Designed by Innovation First and VEX Robotics the VEX Robotics Classroom Competition exists to help schools focus on practical, affordable, and accessible ways of delivering dynamic hands-on STEM educational experiences to as many students as possible. Mixing the excitement and motivation associated with competition and real-world applications of mathematics and science concepts through the use of the engineering design process, the VEX Robotics Classroom Competition is a great program to capture the attention of any student, while teaching the fundamentals of STEM education. Students design and build robots to compete in a high energy and exciting robotics tournament within their own classroom.
