New VEX Robotics competition: Elevation

Dedicated to taking robotics competitions to the next level, VEX Robotics announces Elevation, a new game designed for middle and high school students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Chinese Teams Triumph At Inaugural VEX Robotics World Championship

Northridge, California – May 5, 2008

Close to one hundred teams from around the world invaded the Matadome at California State University, Northridge with their robots last weekend for the inaugural VEX Robotics World Championship. An alliance of three teams from China won the fast-paced competition with robots built by the students using the VEX Robotics Design System. The winning alliance teams were Chengdu Shuangliu Experimental Middle School, Chengdu No.7 High School and Nanshan High School Mianyang. The teams were triumphant on the game “Bridge Battle”, which was created by Innovation First, the organization behind the Vex Robotics World Championship. The tournament was designed as a vehicle for students to interact and learn about robotics engineering in a fun, non-traditional environment.

VEXplorer Contest Challenges Robot Enthusiasts

This is the short list of the many robotics ideas submitted in response to the Grant Imahara VEXplorer Robot Challenge launched by Revell in March 2008.

Inaugural VEX Robotics World Championship Competition Announced

LOS ANGELES – DECEMBER 12, 2007

More than 1,000 high school students from across the globe will join together to compete in the inaugural Vex Robotics World Championship competition, playing the game “Bridge Battle” developed by Innovation First, Inc., at California State University, Northridge on May 2-3, 2008. Winning teams from Vex Robotics Bridge Battle local and state competitions will be invited to participate in the World Championship along with 30 winning teams from the Asian Robotics League (ARL) Bridge Battle competition. Additionally, top teams from other competitions using the Vex Robotics Design System, including the FIRST Tech Challenge Quad Quandary and the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Savage Soccer Vex- based competitions will be invited to participate.

Winners of Inaugural Asian Robotics League BRIDGE BATTLE Competition Announced

More than 100 high school teams from across six countries in Asia, competed in the Asian Robotics League (ARL) “Bridge Battle” Championship. The challenging and fun competition was held from October 18-19, 2007 at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul, Korea. More than 400 students competed with their robots created from the popular VEX Robotics Design System. Prizes were awarded to teams in the categories of Innovation, Connect, Amaze, Inspire and Think, as well as to alliances, made up of two to three teams, that showed great skill and teamwork.

Students from across Oahu, Hawaii Compete in VEX “Bridge Battle” Robotics Tournament to Prepare for FIRST Regional Robotics Competition

Up to 200 students will assemble to compete in the first U.S. “Bridge Battle” robotics competition in Hawaii. The event will take place on November 12, 2007 at the Kamehameha School’s Kapalama Campus in Honolulu. Public and private schools from around the island will participate and put their engineering and technology skills to the test.

VEX Bridge Battle Competition to Debut at Asian Robotics League Championship

Innovation First, Inc., a leader in educational and competitive robotics products, today announced the company will debut “Bridge Battle” at the Asian Robotics League (ARL) Championship being held over two days from October 18-19 in Seoul, Korea at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center. “Bridge Battle”, a unique game based on the popular VEX Robotics Design System, was created at the request of ARL organizers for their inaugural competition that will feature more than 400 students representing 100 high school teams from six countries including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan and Korea. This challenging team-based game will put high school students’ engineering and technology skills to the test as they aim to build the most innovative robots possible and work together to obtain the most points possible.
