Note: You will not receive programming documentation with the Starter Kit.  The programming documentation section for Inventors Guide comes with the easyC® Programming Kit that is sold separately. We have 3 different programming option available, see (Vex Robotics Programming Kit Options) on our website. All Kits are Not Mac compatible.

Vex Power Pack

With the Vex Power Pack Rechargeable Batteries and Charger you will always have a charged set of batteries on hand! Includes a 7.2V Ni-Cad battery for your robot, a 9.6V Ni-Cad battery for your transmitter and a dual charger so you can charge both batteries at the same time.

Vex 7.2 Volt Robot Battery

This is the same Vex 7.2V Ni-Cad Battery for your Robot that comes in the Vex Power Pack. You can now stock up on extra Robot Batteries so you can have replacement batteries ready when you need them.

Crystal Upgrade Kit (A or B)

The Vex Robotics Design System is designed to be usable in a competition setting with multiple robots on the field together at the same time. The transmitter's frequency module and the matching receiver crystal determine the control frequency for a robot. Each robot operating at the same time should be on a different control frequency. There are 2 different kits, A and B, giving you a total of 8 more possible control frequencies. More Info

Transmitter and Receiver Kit

Enable your robot to have multiple users for more complex design and competition possibilities. Includes a transmitter and receiver that operate on different frequencies than your Starter Kit. More Info

Vex Robotics Programming

There are 3 Robotics Programming Kit avaiable: easyC, ROBOTC, and MPLAB. All these kits are a combination of software and hardware components that enable you to write programs on your computer and then download them to your microcontroller.  More Info

Vex Gear Kit

This contains additional gears so you will always have the right combination available to ensure you can achieve the desired balance of torque, speed, and direction. All the parts included in this kit were also included in the Starter Kit, with the exception of the 84-tooth gear, which is just like the other gears, except with more teeth, which gives you access to even higher (or lower) gear ratios.  The 60- and 84-tooth gears have extra mounting holes. These holes can be used for attaching metal bars or parts to these gears when using them as part of a turntable system or other similar design. More Info

Vex Servo Kit

Vex Wheel Kit

Vex Omni Directional Wheel

Increase your robot's maneuverability and minimize skidding. Smaller wheels around the circumference of the larger wheel allow it to roll laterally, as well as forward and backward. More Info

Advanced Gear Kit

This kit contains several new gear types designed to help you build advanced mechanical systems. The rack gear will mount on any Vex metal component, mesh with any Vex gear to create linear motion systems. The worm gears allow users to create very high reduction gearing in a small package; these gears will also resist "back driving" which may be useful in some applications. The kit comes with several bevel gears which allow designers to transfer motion "around corners"; you can change the axis of motion by 90 degrees. These bevel gears can also be used with the differential frame to build a differential. This can be utilized to create more efficient "car style" drivetrains. More Info

Vex Large Omni Directional Wheel Kit

Get even more creative with your robots by limiting action in programmed behavior. Includes 2 switches designed to control motion in lever arm or similar structure. A Programming Kit is needed to change the program in the Vex Controller. More Info

Vex Light Sensor Kit

The light sensor uses a photocell that allows your robot to detect and react to light. With the light sensor, you can program a whole new range of capabilities to your robot. Design a simple tracker that follows the beam of a flashlight, or use a light sensor to help your robot to avoid getting stuck under furniture by making it steer away from shadows. You can even give your robot color vision by putting colored filters on different light sensors! A Programming Kit is needed to change the program in the Vex Controller. More Info

Vex Line Tracking Kit

Program your robot to follow a black line over a white surface. This kit provides more design flexibility--you can also use it to program your robot for light sensing. A Programming Kit is needed to change the program in the Vex Controller. More Info

Vex Bumper Switch Kit

Enable your robot to perform certain functions with programming when the bumper switch is activated by contact.   A Programming Kit is needed to change the program in the Vex Controller. More Info

Vex Optical Shaft Encoder

With the Quadrature Encoder's two output channels you can measure both the position and direction of rotation of a Vex shaft. This will allow you to calculate the speed of the shaft, as well as the distance it has traveled; these are very useful measurements for autonomous programming. You can measure with greater precision than IR or ultrasonic sensors. More Info

Vex Ultrasonic Range Finder

Avoid obstacles and measure distances with the ultrasonic range finder. Device emits a high-frequency sound wave that alerts the robot to things in its path. A Programming Kit is needed to change the program in the Vex Controller. More Info

Vex Potentiometer

With the Potentiometer you can determine both position and direction of rotation. Use this sensor to get an analog measurement of angular position. This measurement can help to understand the position of robot arms, or other mechanisms. A Programming Kit is needed to change the program in the Vex Controller to use the Potentiometer .
